This Veteranβs Day, Petland Lewis Center had the wonderful opportunity to spend an uplifting afternoon at Capri Gardens Rehabilitation and Nursing Care, where we hosted a heartwarming puppy playdate for the residents and staff. On November 11th, our team arrived ready to share a little extra joy, bringing along wagging tails, warm snuggles, and the simple but extraordinary magic that comes from the humanβanimal bond.

The staff and residents welcomed us with open arms as we introduced the puppies who joined us for the visit. Our furry group featured a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, a Pomsky, a Shetland Sheepdog, a Schnoodle, and a Teddy Bear puppy. Each pup had its own personality on full displayβsome were eager for cuddles, others were full of playful enthusiasm, and our adorable Teddy Bear proudly showed off both impressive leash-walking skills and a fresh, charming haircut.

The visit itself remained wonderfully simple: relaxed interaction, easy conversation, shared stories, and countless smiles. We offered fun facts about each breed while watching residents light up with every tail wag, gentle nuzzle, and affectionate kiss. Experiences like this highlight how meaningful, comforting, and healing the presence of animals can be, especially in environments where emotional connection plays such an important role.
This spontaneous pop-up visit came together in just a week, and the joy it brought has us already looking forward to planning the next one.

At Petland Lewis Center, our mission centers on celebrating and nurturing the bond between people and animals. Moments like these filled with joy, comfort, and genuine companionship remind us why we do what we do and inspire us to continue creating opportunities for connection within our community.
